Dr. Stobbe is a Board Certified Neurologist sub-specializing in the field of cognitive and behavioral neurology. Dr. Stobbe completed his neurology residency at UCLA in 1993. He has been practicing neurology in Washington State since then, and joined the University of Washington School of Medicine faculty full time in 2008. Dr. Stobbe is currently Clinical Associate Professor with a dual appointment in the Departments of Neurology and Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences.

 

In 2009, Dr. Stobbe helped establish the Seattle Children’s Autism Center, and currently serves as Director of Adolescent and Adult Services and as a member of the Seattle Children’s Autism Center Leadership Committee. In 2012, Dr. Stobbe helped establish and serves as Medical Director of the UW Medicine Adult Autism Clinic, providing specialty care to adults with autism and other developmental/genetic conditions. In 2014, Dr. Stobbe helped launch and has continued to provide leadership for the Alyssa Burnett Adult Life Center, a unique program operated through Seattle Children’s Hospital providing lifelong learning opportunities for adults with autism and other developmental differences.

 

Dr. Stobbe is also the Director of the Adults and Elders Program at the University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities at UW. In addition to these leadership roles, Dr. Stobbe is also a member of the Global Mental Health Faculty at UW. Dr. Stobbe has extensive experience in clinical research, with his most recent research work focused on novel medical therapeutics as well as clinician training through telehealth to improve access to care and reduce health care disparities both regionally and globally. Dr. Stobbe’s  most recent accomplishment is as Principal Investigator of ECHO Autism Washington, a legislatively funded telehealth-based learning collaborative supporting primary care providers across Washington State in their ability to diagnose autism and positively impact the quality of life for their patients.
